
FRANKLAND Estate in the heart of the Frankland River region is well known for its consistently outstanding wines. Before establishing the vineyard in 1988, co-founders Judi Cullam and Barrie Smith travelled extensively through the great wine regions of Europe, where their love of food and wine also took them to some of the famous olive oil-producing regions of Italy. As with Frankland Estate's renowned riesling and bordeaux blends, the family's olive trees are grown using organic practice. The vineyard and grove should achieve full organic certification in mid-2009. Frankland Estate's commitment to fine food and wine delivers a crafted blending of leccino, pendolino and frantoio - with a small portion of manzanillo - to produce an extra virgin oil of complexity, intensity and balance.
